Managing member access should be simple, predictable, and secure. This SureDash update makes content restrictions work more accurately across your community and makes it much easier to bring your existing LearnDash courses into SureDash.
SureDash now fully supports SureMembers Exceptions. This means specific lessons, events, resources, or discussions can stay open to everyone, even when a broader restriction is applied to the rest of your portal or content type. You get more flexibility to share select content publicly, without changing your overall access rules, and it works exactly the way SureMembers behaves on the rest of your site.
For example, you can keep a full learning portal restricted to paying members, but still make one introductory lesson or welcome resource open to everyone. Or you can share a public event or discussion to attract new members, without opening up the rest of your premium content.
We’ve also reworked how SureDash checks SureMembers’ access across community spaces, listings, and notifications. Restricted content now shows up clearly as locked cards with a helpful message, and access is checked more accurately everywhere on the platform, so each member only sees what they’re actually allowed to see.
On the Premium side, SureDash now supports LearnDash Course Migration. You can bring your existing LearnDash courses, including lessons and quizzes, straight into SureDash. Whether you’re moving to SureDash for a better community learning experience or just consolidating your course platform, this makes the switch much easier.
Core Changelog
- New: SureDash now fully supports SureMembers Exceptions (excluded content). When you exclude a lesson, event, resource, or discussion from a Membership, it now stays open to everyone, even when a broader portal-wide or content-type restriction applies. This matches how SureMembers already behaves across the rest of your site.
- Improvement: Reworked how SureDash checks SureMembers restrictions across every community space, listing, and piece of sub-content. Restricted items now show up as locked cards with a clear access message, and access is re-checked correctly wherever content appears.
- Improvement: Tightened access checks so notification emails and community listings check each recipient’s SureMembers access individually. Restricted post titles and excerpts now only show to members who are allowed to see them.
- Improvement: The user picker in widget settings now supports type-ahead search, so finding and selecting members is faster.
- Fix: The member “since” date now follows your site’s date format and locale, instead of a fixed format.
- Fix: Fixed icon alignment on the Login form fields.
- Important: This release significantly improves how SureDash follows SureMembers access rules. If you use SureMembers to restrict community content, we recommend reviewing your locked spaces, lessons, and posts once after updating, just to confirm the right content is visible and any Exceptions you’ve set up are working as expected.
