All you need is a Giphy API key, and setting it up takes just a few minutes.

What is Giphy?

Giphy is one of the most popular platforms for sharing animated GIFs. It offers a massive collection of looping animations that people use every day to react, respond, or just have fun.

By connecting Giphy to SureDash, your users can search for and share GIFs right from within their Spaces — no need to upload or copy-paste from outside.

To use Giphy inside SureDash, you’ll need to connect your SureDash workspace to Giphy’s service. This is done using a public API key, which is like a pass that lets your workspace securely use Giphy’s features.

Steps to Get Your Giphy API Key

Follow these quick steps to create your Giphy API key and integrate it with SureDash.

Here’s how you can get your Giphy API key and connect it with SureDash:

• Go to https://developers.giphy.com

• Log in to your Giphy account, or create a free one if you don’t have it yet

• Click on Create an API Key

• Choose API as the app type

• Enter your App Name (you can call it something like “SureDash Integration”)

• In the description, mention how the app will be used (for example: “To allow GIF search in SureDash posts and comments”)

• Submit the form, and you’ll get a Public API Key right away. You can copy the key.

• Next, open your WordPress Dashboard > SureDash > Settings > Social Settings > Giphy Integration and paste your API key in the field provided.

• Click Save

Testing the Integration

To make sure everything’s working:

• Go to a post or comment box in SureDash

• Click on the GIF button in the comment bar.

• Try searching for something like “hello” or “hey”

You should see Giphy results show up instantly!
