How to Set Up Google Login in SureDash: A Step-by-Step Guide
In today’s digital landscape, users expect a quick, secure, and hassle-free login experience. SureDash offers both traditional username-password login and social login options, including Google and Facebook.
Enabling Google Login on your SureDash portal enhances user experience, simplifies onboarding, and improves security. To integrate Google Login, you first need to create a Google Client ID using the Google Developer Console.
This guide walks you through the steps to set up Google Login, generate a Google Client ID, and integrate it into your SureDash settings.
Step 1: Create a Google Project
- Go to the Google Developer Console and log in with your Google credentials.
- Click Create Project (blue button on the right).
- Enter a Project Name, then click Create.
- If you already have a project, click on the existing project name, then select New Project from the modal.
Once your project is created, you’ll be redirected to the Dashboard.
Step 2: Set Up OAuth Consent Screen
- In the Google Developer Console, go to Credentials (left sidebar).
- Click OAuth Consent Screen.
- Set User Type to External, then click Create.
- Enter an Application Name (this will appear when users log in via Google).
- Fill in Authorized Domains with your website domain (e.g., your-site-url.com, without https://).
- Click Save and Continue.
Step 3: Generate OAuth Client ID
- Navigate to Credentials (left sidebar).
- Click Create Credentials, then select OAuth Client ID.
- Under Application Type, choose Web Application.
- Enter a Name for your credentials.
- Under Authorized JavaScript Origins, add your domain (e.g., https://your-site-url.com).
- Enter your website URL in the Authorized JavaScript origins section.
- In the Authorized redirect URIs section, input the page URL where you want users to be redirected after they successfully authenticate with Google.
- Click the Create button to save your settings.
- A pop-up will display your Client ID and Client Secret. Copy these for the next step.
Step 4: Integrate Google Client ID into SureDash
- Log in to your SureDash WordPress Dashboard.
- Navigate to SureDash β Settings β Social Settings.
- Under Google Registration, paste the Google Client ID.
- Click Save Changes.
Once saved, your users will now see Google Login as an option in your SureDash portal! π
