How to Create a “Discussion” Space in SureDash

A Discussion Space is where conversations happen. It’s designed to encourage meaningful interactions, allowing users to ask questions, share ideas, and collaborate.

Whether you’re building a community forum, a feedback hub, or a support discussion area, this space makes it easy for users to engage.

Here’s how you can create one!

  • Log in to WordPress Dashboard and navigate to SureDash -> Spaces.
  • Next, click on the + Add New Space below the Space Group where you would like to add the Discussions Space.
  • Enter a Space Title and choose Posts/Discussion as the Space Content Type.
    • Click Create Space to move to the customization options.

  • On the Customization screen, add a description to let members know what this space is for.
    • By default, only admins can post, and members can comment. To let members create their posts, toggle on Allow Members to Post (available with the premium version).
    • If you already have posts in this space, you can pin one to the top so it stays visible using the Select Pinned Posts option.
    • In Space Settings, choose whether to display posts as full content or excerpt only, depending on your preference.
  • Once we have some posts, you can toggle comments as needed. You can view, edit, and click on the three edits for the option to Duplicate, Save as Draft, or Move to Trash.
    • You can even multi-select using the check box and take actions to delete the posts.
  • Upon editing individual lessons, you have the option to select the Forum, which acts like a Category for the Discussion Space under which you want to display the posts.

  • Once everything’s ready, click Publish.
  • All your Discussion posts can also be viewed in one place using the central post feed, with built-in search and filter options for easy browsing.

That’s it! You’ve now created a Discussion Space where your community can connect, share ideas, or ask questions. Whether you’re hosting open conversations or private chats, Discussion Spaces help you keep everything organized and engaging.
