Using Media Offloading in SureDash

Introduction

In SureDash, you can now manage and use media files that are stored externally through media offloading solutions like Bunny.net. This helps reduce load on your WordPress hosting and ensures faster, more reliable file delivery to your community members.

Previously, when admins or portal managers added resources using the media uploader, offloaded media links did not work correctly on the front-end and often resulted in “File not found” errors. With the new improvements, offloaded files now behave consistently with local media files, making your portal experience smoother and more efficient.

What’s New

  • The issue with offloaded media not being accessible on the front-end has been resolved.
  • Admins and portal managers can now seamlessly select offloaded media files while adding resources in SureDash.
  • All selected offloaded media files are now fully downloadable and accessible to users on the front-end.

This update ensures that offloaded media files function just like locally stored ones, providing a reliable and performance-optimized experience for resource-heavy portals.

How It Works

  1. Media files stored externally (via services like Bunny.net or other offloading tools) can now be selected directly from the media uploader inside SureDash.
  2. Once selected, these files will automatically link to the correct offloaded location.
  3. Your members can view or download these files seamlessly on the front-end.

This improvement bridges the gap between your WordPress Media Library and external storage, keeping everything accessible within SureDash.

Benefits

  • Better Performance: Offloading reduces strain on your WordPress hosting and speeds up file delivery.
  • Full Compatibility: Offloaded files now appear and function the same way as local media within SureDash.
  • Smoother Management: Admins and portal managers can easily manage all files in one place.

Conclusion

The new Media Offloading enhancements in SureDash make it easier to manage and deliver files, no matter where they’re stored. You can now confidently use offloaded media for your portal resources without worrying about broken links or accessibility issues.

We’re also planning future updates to make this process even more automated, allowing uploads within SureDash to directly sync with your preferred offloading service.
