How to Setup Resource Library Space in SureDash
The Resource Library Space in SureDash allows admins to share documents, files, and external links in a secure and organized way. It provides flexible layout options for display and ensures resources are easy for users to access, bookmark, and engage with.
How to Create a Resource Library Space
Go to the Space Group where you want to add the Resource Library and click the + Add New Space to create a new Space.
Enter the Space Title and Space Icon, next select Resource Library as the Space Type. Select the Space Group where the Resource Library should appear, then click Create Space.
You will be taken to the Space page, where you can select the Layout Style on the right sidebar for how resources will be displayed to users:
- Grid/Card view – Resources shown as cards with icons
- List view – Resources displayed in a vertical list format
- Stacked view – Resources arranged in a stacked list view
Along with layout, you can also:
- Enable or disable like, and sharing
- Pin important posts at the top of Resource Library for quick access
Add resources to the library by clicking Add Resource. You can choose between two types:
- Upload – Upload files such as documents, images, or videos directly to the protected Resource Library folder (/suredashboard/resources/). These files are stored securely and cannot be accessed directly via URL.
- External Link – Add links to websites or third-party resources.
Each resource includes:
- Title and description
- File type indicator (PDF, DOCX, etc.) for uploaded files
- Icons – Default folder icon for uploads, Link icon for external resources
Use the Content Editor to add detailed descriptions, instructions, or additional formatting to a resource.
Once resources are added, publish the Space by setting the Space Status to Published.
When you click on the External Link or Upload it will open up a popup. You will have an option to bookmark or Access Resource if Link and Download Resource if it is an Upload.
For the full-screen option, you will be taken to a Single Resource page as shown below:
Media Library Integration
- Files uploaded in the Resource Library are automatically labeled with a “Resource Library:” prefix in the WordPress Media Library for easy identification.
- Uploads are context-aware, meaning files uploaded within the Resource Library automatically go into the protected folder.
This way, the Resource Library Space provides a secure, flexible, and professional catalog of resources that’s easy for admins to manage and simple for users to explore. More details on Media Handling in the Resource Library.
Please note that we will soon be adding a custom uploader for the resource library and removing the WordPress Media library option.
Conclusion
With the Resource Library Space in SureDash, you’re creating a safe and smart home for your files and links. Your team (the admins) can organize information in neat layouts, pin important items, and control who sees what. Plus, uploads get stored in a locked folder and marked with “Resource Library:” so they’re easy to spot and stay protected. All of this adds up to a clean, professional, and easy-to-use resource hub where users can quickly find what they need, and you can manage it without any hassle.
