How to Configure SureDash Space Layouts

Designing the right layout helps you create a better experience for your community, whether it’s a clean discussion feed, a full-width course view, or a tailored page layout.

Here’s how you can customize the layout for any space:

Choose a Layout Style for Each Space

Each space can have its own layout:

  • Narrow – Best for focused discussions
  • Normal – A balanced, default layout
  • Full Width – Great for immersive, media-rich content

To set the layout:

  1. Open the Space Settings.
  2. On the right panel, choose your preferred layout: Narrow, Normal, or Full Width.

Customize Container Style for Single Post Spaces

If you’re using a Single Post space type, you’ll also see a Container Style option:

  • Global – Inherits your portal’s default style
  • Boxed – Adds padding around content
  • Unboxed – Removes padding for an edge-to-edge look

Select the style that fits the experience you want to create.

Set Global Layout Defaults

To control how layouts appear across your entire portal:

  1. Log in to the WordPress Dashboard and navigate to SureDash -> Customize Portal.
  2. In the global settings, find layout defaults for:
    • Global Container Type (Full Width, Normal Width, or Narrow Width)
    • Global Container Style (Boxed, or Unboxed)
    • Widths for Narrow or Course views (e.g., set Narrow to 700px for a slightly wider layout)
      • Normal Container Width
      • Normal Course Width
      • Course Container Width
      • Container Spacing
  3. Make your adjustments and click Save.

By customizing layouts, you ensure each space fits its purpose, whether it’s a lively discussion, a structured course, or a resource hub.
