How to Re-create the Application Footer Layout

If you have customized your existing layout but still want to add the Application Footer Layout without resetting the template, you can manually create it by following these steps.

Steps to Create the Application Footer

Step 1: Add a Row at the very bottom of your template.

Step 2: Assign the following custom classes to this Row block:

portal-hide-on-desktop portal-application-footer

  • portal-hide-on-desktop: Ensures this footer is hidden on desktop screens.
  • portal-application-footer: Allows SureDash to recognize this section as the application footer.
    • This is important because, on certain screens like Lesson / Resource / Event single screens, the footer changes dynamically into the appropriate call-to-action (CTA).

Step 3: Set up the DynamicIcons block in this row.

Step 4: That’s it! Your mobile-style application footer is ready.

Available Triggers, Links, and IDs

You can use the following values to add links or actions to your footer icons:

TriggerTypeValue
Home linkLink/portal/
SearchID#portal-search-trigger
Add new PostID#portal-write-a-post
NotificationLink/portal/screen/notification/
User ProfileLink/portal/user-profile/

Notes:

  • /portal/ represents your community slug from the URL.
  • This list can be extended further based on your needs or requests.

Conclusion

By following these steps, you can manually re-create the Application Footer Layout without resetting your entire template. This gives you the flexibility to keep your customizations while still providing users with a mobile-friendly footer menu.
