Understanding Slugs in SureDash
In SureDash, different types of content and groups are managed using Slugs. These are technical names that help SureDash organize your Spaces, Groups, and Community Content behind the scenes.
This document provides a simple overview of the active Slugs used in SureDash and what they are meant for.
Active Slugs in SureDash
Slug | Type | Purpose/Description |
---|---|---|
portal | Post Type | Used for SureDash Spaces, the main building blocks of your community. |
portal_group | Taxonomy | Used for SureDash Space Groups, helping you categorize and organize Spaces. |
community-content | Post Type | Used for SureDash Community content, such as lessons or posts inside a Space. |
Why Slugs Matter
- They help SureDash know what content is what, so Spaces, Groups, and Posts stay organized.
- They make it easier for developers or site admins to manage, troubleshoot, and structure the site.
- If you are migrating, setting up, or customizing your community, knowing these slugs avoids confusion.
Quick Examples
✔ When you create a new Space, it’s stored under the portal post type.
✔ If you group Spaces, those groups use the portal_group
taxonomy.
✔ Posts like Lessons or other community content use the community-content
post type.
