How To Set Up A Private Discussion Space In SureDash
A Private Discussion Space in SureDash lets you create a safe place where only selected people can see and talk with each other. It’s great if you want to have focused conversations without making them public for everyone.
Here’s how you can set it up:
Create a “Posts/Discussion” Space
- Go to your Space Group where you want to add the private discussion.
- Click the Plus (+) icon next to the Space Group name.
- From the list of Space Types, choose “Posts/Discussion”.
- This type of space allows users to create posts and have conversations under them.

- Give your Space a Title — like “Private Team Chat” or “Exclusive Member Discussions”.
- Pick the Space Group where this Space should be placed.
- On the next screen, fill in the following details:
- Choose Topic Forum: Select the category (like Tech and Development) that best fits this discussion.
- Pinned Topic Post: Choose a post to appear at the top. You can also click Edit to make changes.
- Make Discussions Private: Toggle this ON if you want all discussions in this space to stay private between the topic creator and portal managers.
- Space Status: Choose between:
- Draft: Keeps it hidden until you’re ready.
- Publish: Makes it live right away for the allowed users.

- Once you’re done, click Create Space.
