Collection Pricing in SureDash

Collection Pricing lets you show a price tag or a Free tag on the spaces inside a collection. When a visitor cannot open a paid space, the card stops looking locked and shows a price with a Buy Now button instead. This gives you a simple way to market paid content right where people are already browsing, without needing a separate sales page.

Applies to: SureDash Pro, and requires SureMembers Core to be active.

Before You Begin

  • SureMembers Core must be active. This is the plugin that locks spaces, and Collection Pricing only shows tags on spaces that SureMembers can lock. Without it, the setting stays greyed out with a “Requires SureMembers Core” badge.
  • The space type must be Collection. Other space types do not have a Pricing option.
  • Have your memberships ready. Decide which Membership should lock the paid space before you tag it, since that lock is what triggers the sales card.
  • Have a checkout link ready. Collection Pricing does not process payments itself. It links out to wherever you sell access, such as SureCart, WooCommerce, or an external checkout page.

Note: Collection Pricing only displays information. It does not grant or remove access on its own. The Membership is what actually locks the space, and your checkout process is what should add the buyer to that group after purchase.

Steps

  1. Go to your Collection space and open its settings sidebar.
  2. Click the Display Pricing toggle to turn it on.

Enable the Display Pricing for the Collection Space Type

  1. Set the Paid Tag and Free Tag colours, or leave them blank to use the defaults.
  2. Go to the space list inside the collection. You will now see a Pricing column.
  3. Click the pill in a space’s row to open Pricing Settings.
  4. Choose No tag, Free, or Paid for that space.

Pricing Settings for the Collection Space Type
Collection Space Type with the Pricing Column > Free, Paid, and No tag

  1. If you choose Paid, fill in the following fields:
    • Currency: defaults to USD, with 31 currencies available.
    • Price: digits only, with at most one decimal point, for example 49 or 49.99.
    • Sales/checkout link: must start with http:// or https://.
    • Button text: optional. If left blank, it shows “Learn More”.

Collection > Pricing Settings > Paid

  1. Point your checkout link to whatever process adds the buyer to the Membership, protecting that space. Buying through the link does not unlock the space on its own; your checkout has to be set up to add the buyer to the Membership.
  2. View the collection while logged out, or as a member without access, to see the sales card. Logged in as an admin, you will always see the normal card since you already have access.

The Three States

StateOn the cardEffect on access
No tagNothing. The card looks exactly as it did before.None. This is the default for every space.
FreeA “Free” tag, using your site’s own wording for Free.None. A Free tag does not open up a space that SureMembers still restricts.
PaidThe price, for example $49, and a Buy Now button for locked out visitors.None. The lock still comes from the Membership.

What Members Actually See

This is the part support gets asked about most, since a paid tag is deliberately hidden from people who already bought.

Space is taggedViewer’s situationCard shows
PaidLocked out, checkout link savedSales card with price tag and button. Clicking the card also opens the checkout link.
PaidAlready has accessNo price tag at all. The tag only markets to people who can still buy.
PaidLocked out, no checkout link savedThe normal locked card, no tag or button.
PaidContent is drip scheduled, not released yetThe normal drip state. Someone waiting on a scheduled lesson already owns it, so they are not sold to again.
FreeAny viewerThe Free tag, on top of whatever lock state the card already had.

Where the Tag Appears

A collection can show its cards in three layouts, and the tag adapts to each one.

LayoutUnlocked cardLocked card
GridTag in the corner of the thumbnailNo tag. The frosted locked design is used instead.
StackedTag in the corner of the itemNo tag, same reason as grid.
ListSolid pill in the row, before the action buttonSolid pill at the end of the row.

Note: A locked space tagged Free will only show its pill in the List layout. Grid and Stacked layouts use the frosted lock design, which has no room for a tag. This is expected behaviour, not a bug.

Tag Colours

Colours are set once per collection and apply to every tag inside it.

TagDefault colourBehaviour
Paid Tag#101828Text colour automatically switches between white and near black, based on how light the fill is.
Free Tag#15803dSame automatic contrast behaviour.

Troubleshooting

What you’re seeingWhat to check
There is no Pricing columnSureMembers Core may be inactive, or Display Pricing is off for that collection.
I set a price but no tag appearsThe viewer may already have access, so check while logged out. Otherwise, the space may be missing a checkout link, or Display Pricing may be off.
The Buy Now button never showsThe space may not actually be locked for that visitor, the lock may be a drip schedule, or the checkout link may be empty.
The tag only shows in one layoutThis is expected for locked cards. See the layout table above.
Saving the dialog seems to do nothingCheck the error message at the bottom of the dialog. Try reloading, since a stale tab, expired session, or deactivated Pro plugin are the usual causes.
The checkout link is rejectedIt must start with http:// or https://. A bare domain like example.com will not be accepted.
The price shows without a currency symbolReopen Pricing Settings and save once. Older data may not have a currency stored.

Words to Use

  • Display Pricing for the collection level toggle
  • Pricing Settings for the dialog
  • No tag, Free, Paid for the three options
  • Sales/checkout link and Button text for those fields
  • Paid Tag and Free Tag for the colour pickers
  • Membership when talking about the lock

For Developers

  • suredash_pro_pricing_paid_badge_text: Rewrites the price tag text. Receives the assembled text, the raw price, the currency symbol, and the card data, so “$49” can become “$49 / lifetime”.
  • suredash_pro_pricing_free_badge_text: Rewrites the Free tag text, for example to “Included”.
  • suredashboard_pricing_badge_style: Switches the tag style used for overlay layouts.

Collection Pricing gives you a quick, no-code way to turn any collection into a light sales page for your paid spaces. Just remember, the Membership is what locks the content, and Collection Pricing is only the label on top.
